I'm afraid I fall into that category as well... I mean I LIKE american music, bu i only really listen to it when i'm bored of asian music XD, but as far as american music goes, i'm pretty well rounded, I listen to most everything, from pop, to rock, to country, to rap (occasionally), to dance, to everything, all though I'm far more picky, more of a "I like this song, and that song" rather than a "I like this artist", and i'm almost always listening to asian music anyway, so i'm not toooo in touch with whats going on in the american music scene. basically if it doesn't get played on the "top 40" stations i don't listen to it,as most of my rock and country i listen to is from a ew years ago, when i wasn't QUITE as asian music obessed.
it grows over time you know. that first 2,3, even fours years you'll still listen to american music, but eventually you find yourself listening non-stop to the Asian stuff. here I am, 9 years into J-pop and 13 years into anime fandom and I'm pretty.... out of touch with most american stuff, be it movies, tv, music, whatever.
