Pairing: SiHae
Side Pairings: KangTeuk, HanChul, Ninja!HenWook. Slight HanHae
Summary: When Siwon left the church that night he never expected to be attacked and wake up three days later in a stranger's house. He never expected to be informed that he was now a werewolf. But it happened, and now his life is upside down. The moon is calling....
Notes: AU, contains werewolves, vampires, magic, the whole deal. Also my first fic ever XD. also, I'm playing a bit fast and loose with the ages of the boys. its a bit difficult not to when your dealing with werewolves that can live for almost forever. So their ages are not in the order of real life.

Previous chapter

Siwon sits alone in a new room, waiting for Donghae to come back with the pack leader, and the only member he hadn’t met yet, Han Geng.

He nervously drums his fingers against his thigh, and shifts uncomfortably in his seat, His mind tripping over itself in it’s frantic speculating about the night to come. Siwon takes a few deep breaths and forces his mind away. He has to keep himself calm, so he runs back over all the pack members he had met so far, the pack he would soon be joining.

Ryeowook and Henry, the medics who he met when he first woke up, Leeteuk who he met not long after. Kangin his mate. Heechul, the rather bossy wolf who kept showing up and making comments the whole day.

“Oh look! Its Baby Wonnie again.”

“Watch your feet brat. You may be a werewolf now, but your feet are still in the same place. Can ‘t you walk normally?”

“Oh look, Hae! His face looks like a tomato. Do you  think that we could make it stay that way?”

Siwon isn’t sure if he’s annoyed or amused.

Then there was Eunhyuk and Shindong who had saved him. Very friendly. Eunhyuk seemed a little excitable, but all around, Siwon thought they were good people.

Sungmin hung around for while,  and three of them, himself, Donghae and Sungmin talked quite a bit about werewolves and such, their history, all sorts of things. Sungmin was, in  a single word, cute. Siwon is still surprised every time he thinks of how Sungmin had restrained him when he had tried to attack Kibum.

Kibum. Siwon has mixed feelings about him. He was a decent person, polite, if a little quiet. But Siwon’s inexplicable dislike of the man is the first thing that comes to mind. The only reason he can come up with is the anger that churns in his stomach every time he thinks of how Donghae had hugged him. And that reaction is inexplicable in and of itself

Siwon Shakes his head and redirects his thoughts. After that fiasco, Donghae had taken him to meet Kyuhyun, Yesung, and Kyuhyun’s mate Zhou Mi. They had been practicing off in one part of the house, Kyuhyun and Yesung singing, and Zhou mi watching and occasionally joining in whenever he looked up from his laptop.

Siwon chuckles under his breath remembering how Kyuhyun had been shooting dirty glares at the tall werewolf. Turns out Zhou mi had stolen Kyuhyun’s laptop and was holding it ransom until Kyuhyun apologized for not paying attention when he was doing the wash and ruining some of Zhou mi’s favourite clothes.

Kyuhyun had subjected Siwon, and everyone else in the room to sarcastic and cutting remarks, muttering under his breath about the injustice of the world, and how Zhou Mi had better not wreck his ranking on Star Craft. At this remark Zhou mi’s face took a shifty fox-like look, and a grin threatened to split his face as he ducked his face behind the laptop screen.

Kyuhyun had caught sight of it and eyes wide had launched himself at the man, the two fighting over the laptop. Eventually Kyuhyun won, leaving Zhou mi sprawled on the floor. Kyuhyun stood over him triumphantly, before he flopped down beside him. Kyuhyun had smirked and Zhou mi had burst into laughter.

Siwon’s heart had jolted in alarm, taking a while to return to its proper rhythm, but Yesung and Donghae had looked on in amusement. Eventually Yesung lost interest and pulled a turtle out of nowhere, proceeding to go off and talk to it on his own. Siwon had stared in bemusement, when Yesung introduced it to him as Ddangkoma XIV, or just Ddangkoma.

Although…. Now that he thinks about it, What happened to the first 13? Siwon grimaces. On second thought, he doesn’t want to know.

But in any case, Siwon now understood why Donghae had mentioned the man was bit odd. But still, he had liked him, and now a small seed of confidence planted it self in his chest as he reassured himself that he could learn to fit in in this place.

Of course, he couldn’t forget about Donghae. The man had wormed his way past all of Siwon’s defenses without him even realizing it. Siwon is simply amazed at the rate that he has adjusted to Donghae’s presence. Donghae was the only person he felt comfortable around in this place. No matter how nice or friendly the others were, there was always a voice whispering in the back of his mind to attack, not trust anyone. But not around Donghae. Siwon was confused when it came to him, what he was feeling, why he was so possessive and protective of the man. It was just one more mystery to add to the fantasy tale that his life was becoming.

Now the only person he hadn’t met, according to Donghae, is Han Geng, the second in command of the pack. Donghae had brought him to this  room and had trotted off to go and fetch Leeteuk and Han Geng so they could explain the ritual that night, Donghae telling him that it wasn’t his place, when Siwon had asked.

Siwon muses on the events of the past few days for while longer, until he is interrupted by footsteps coming down the hall.  A few moments pass,  before the door clicks open, and Donghae, Leeteuk, and someone he doesn’t know, Hang Geng he assumes, walk in.

Donghae immediately moves to stand next to Siwon, who had risen at the entrance of the other werewolves. The unknown man steps forward slightly and gives Siwon a nod. “Hello, my name is Han Geng.”

Siwon blinks at his accented Korean, before he remembers that the man is supposed to be Chinese. Siwon nods back “Nice to meet you.”

Han Geng smiles. “You as well.”

The man steps back again, and Leeteuk speaks next. “How are you getting along with everyone so far Siwon-ssi?”

“Good so far, I think. it’s a bit hard to tell how we’ll get along later though, seeing as most of us have only met once or twice.”

Leeteuk nods amiably. “Understandable. Well, I hope that you’ll feel welcome here.”

Siwon agrees, “Me too.”

“All pleasantries aside, tonight we’re going to do the pack initiation ritual, So there are a few things I need to explain.”

Siwon focuses on the Alpha. “Yes?”

“I’m going to explain how this is going to work okay?”

Siwon’s eyebrows furrow in concentration.

“There’s a small ritual beforehand that we have to do as pack. Its simply to open the pack bond and make the magic susceptible to adding another member, if we don’t do that then the magic will try to retaliate against what it perceives as a foreign intrusion. Its really simple and you don’t have to be present for it. You’ll be waiting in another room, and we’ll send someone to get you when its time for you to come in. under stand so far?”

Leeteuk’s eyes bore into him, and Siwon lowers his gaze. “I think so.”

Apparently satisfied, Leeteuk continues. “When you first come in the first thing you have to do is state your full name and your intent to join the pack. There is some phrasing you‘ll need to know, but I’ll have Donghae teach them to you after I’m done here.”

“Why is that?”

Leeteuk smiles. “Magic does as Magic has done, as they say. Magic can change and adapt but it works better when its doing something its already done before. Its why rituals, spells, and the like have much more power than uncontrolled magic.  Think of it like a river in a canyon. Over time, the river has worn a path into the rock, channeling and making its power stronger, wearing rocks and forming currents and rapids. magic is much like that. We’ve used these same phrases for a long time,  so the magic of the pack bond will recognize them and hopefully make the transition a little easier.

Siwon’s eyes widen in understanding. “Oh.”

“The next part is you have to accept me as your alpha, and this part may be difficult for you.”

“Really?”

“You’re a very dominant werewolf Siwon-ssi. I don’t know what you were like before you Turned, but I bet you were very stubborn and competitive, am I right?”

Siwon blushes, embarrassed to admit what he had always seen as something of a failing. “Well… yes.”

Amusement at his reluctance creeps onto the faces of everyone present. Donghae speaks up for the first time since he’s come back into the room. “That translates into dominance in a werewolf. Becoming a werewolf won’t change your personality, it only emphasizes what was already there.”

Siwon looks at him and nods in comprehension. Han Geng is the next to speak. “The reason that it may be difficult for you to accept Leeteuk as your alpha is because you’re so dominant, so you won’t just back down when Leeteuk tries to dominate. You’ll fight it.  But it has to happen for you to be accepted.”

Apprehension has twisted Siwon‘s intestines into knots. He’s more than aware of his mile wide stubborn streak. “what happens if I don’t back down?”

Leeteuk‘s face takes on a guilty cast, and his eyes fill with remorse. “Then I’ll force the issue. You absolutely have to submit so I can enter your mind and guide you into the pack. No matter how much the magic accepts you, no matter how much I, or you may want you to be a part of the pack, until I Actually bring you in it won’t happen. It‘s up to me to make the actual connection.”

Siwon ‘s eyes shift uneasily, and he steps back almost involuntarily. “err…”

Donghae reaches over and lays a hand on his shoulder, stretching up to look him straight in the face, eyes wide and earnest.  “If it wasn’t necessary, we wouldn’t do it Siwonnie.”

Well, damn. How is he supposed to react to that? Siwon sighs, and nods wearily. Donghae’s fingers tighten reassuringly.

Leeteuk and Han Geng watch the two for a moment, and look to each other, and unreadable look passing between them. Leeteuk’s eyes narrow but a moment later he turns back to them and continues. Siwon feels Donghae‘s hand slip from his shoulder. “There’s only really one thing after that, determining your place in the pack. Since the pack magic is open and malleable at this point, its easier to find your ranking in the pack, without it resulting in violence like normal. A stare down, some growling is all it usually amounts to during the ritual. Of course, not that your ranking in the pack won’t change at a later date, but for now, this will serve as the final solidifier for the bond.”

Leeteuk shrugs here. “And then you’ll be pack, assuming everything goes to plan. And then the really fun part starts, learning all about being a werewolf, learning to control your instincts and powers.” a pause. “Did you under stand everything?”

Siwon nods grimly. “Yes, Leeteuk-ssi.”

Leeteuk looks sympathetically at him. “I know it seems scary right now, but we really don’t have much choice, do we?”

Siwon shakes his head ruefully. “No, I guess not.”

The explanation ended, Leeteuk turns to Donghae, looking at him meaningfully, before announcing. “I’ll leave you here then. We’ve still got some stuff to get ready on our end. Donghae. Fill him in on the rest and we’ll call you when we’re ready.  I’ll see you during the ritual, Siwon-ssi”

Han Geng adds. “I‘ll take me leave as well.”

Donghae and Siwon both say their farewells to the two wolves, and then they’re alone in the room together.

Siwon takes a deep breath and turns to face Donghae. Donghae smiles faintly at him. “You ready to get started?”

“Yeah.”

------------------------------------------------------------------

Pace. Turn. Pace. Turn.

Siwon feels anxiety tearing at his stomach, panic rising up into his throat, choking and solid. It was time.

He’s alone in the room, the ritual of the others already started. He can feel something from the others, a power, calling to him. He struggles to think straight, keep his mind rational and human, when the wolf In his mind is flinging himself against Siwon’s barriers in an attempt to escape.

His stride lengthens and he hunches slightly with the effort of controlling him self. He’s about to make another turn when the power from the other room spikes, and then slowly evens out. All too soon the door is opening and Donghae is standing there, a glazed look to his eyes.

“It’s time.”

Siwon hesitates for the briefest second before the wolf seizes his moment of inattention and tears a little more control away from him. The wolf is all too eager to follow the man, and Siwon lets it take him out of the small chamber in which he had waited.

For a moment he looks around in amazement at the glowing lines and symbols that cover the room, but his wolf is too preoccupied to allow him to look for long before his gaze is drawn violently to the center of the room.

The pack has formed a circle with Leeteuk at the center. With his entrance everybody’s gaze is drawn to him, and they silently watch his approach. He slips through a gap in the circle in which Donghae settles behind him.

The heavy silence is broken only by the sound of breathing before Leeteuk draws himself up and harshly demands. “The pack has gathered, and the circle opened. Who is it who has entered our territory?”

Siwon shoves all of his anxiety and nervousness down into a little ball, leaving nothing but sheer determination burning in his gaze as he replies. “I am Choi Siwon, Pack leader. I come asking for admittance into the circle of the Seoul Wolf Pack.”

Leeteuk’s silver eyes don’t waver from his as he asks with an imperious tilt of the head and narrowing of his eyes. “And what can you bring to our pack?”

Siwon’s voice is strong in reply. “I come seeking refuge, but I am not without value. I pledge my loyalty to the pack. I shall live for the pack, hunt for the pack, and I swear that my fangs and claws shall be at your command, Pack Leader.”

Siwon can feel the magic of the pack bond swirling around him, pulling at him, until something clicks in his head and warmth burns in his chest. The magic settles into a comforting hum vibrating through him.

A Satisfied smirk crosses Leeteuk‘s face. “The magic has accepted your offering. Now it up to you to accept me as your pack leader.”

As Leeteuk finishes these words, there is something foreign poking, feeling, at his mind and he instinctively hunches over and growls, shakes his head to free himself. Walls immediately build themselves around his mind to ward it away, but it is not to be deterred. Leeteuk’s face falls into quiet determination as the probe grows harsher and more aggressive. Slowly, one by one, all the other wolves in the room sink down into a kneeling position on the floor, heads bowed.

Siwon struggles, and Leeteuk begin to walk towards him, each stride calm and measured. With every step Leeteuk takes, power radiates off of him in waves, crushing and heavy. Slowly, Siwon sinks to his knees, teeth bared. His lips curl back into a snarl and his muscles protest the movement to no avail.  Leeteuk is no more than a single pace away when The man kneels and reaches out a hand.

Siwon’s last vestiges of control snap and the familiar haze settles over his mind like a thick fog. He bares his teeth and snaps at the hand reaching for him. Or tries to anyway. He finds that he can’t move, limbs heavy and numb from the sheer weight of Leeteuk’s aura pressing down on him. He settles for growling, a low rumble in the back of his throat. He won’t submit. He won’t.

Then the hand reaches his head and reality shatters, the presence pushing in and grabbing, rearranging everything. He collapses forward, his arms shaking with the effort to support him and hands curling into the ground. Eventually even that falters, leaving Siwon slumped on the floor, whimpering in pain. He writhes and twitches, but the hand is immovable.

Then, as soon as it came, the pain is gone, and something else takes it’s place. A rush of foreign emotion consumes him, exaltation and joy, a welcome to the new pack mate. His breath rushes out in a gasp, an almost euphoric feeling creeping over him. He is now complete, and the wolf within calms slightly with the knowledge that he has a pack, the persistent searching feeling that had caused him such unease abating.

The sense of pack hovers right at the back of his mind, and slowly he separates it out into different feelings. Sungmin, bright and fresh, behind him and to the left. And Kyuhyun, sharp and chilly, to the right. Each member sends him welcome, distinct feelings engraving themselves into his mind, until no thought is required to pick one from the other.

Siwon slowly raises himself to his hands and knees, sweat beading at his brow. Leeteuk tilts his head slightly, eyes crinkled up in a warm expression, and whispers from his position in front of him. “Welcome to the pack Siwon-ah.”

A grin threatens to split Siwon’s face, revealing sharpened canines. His heart pounds heavily. He rasps out. “My Alpha.”

Leeteuk gives a single approving nod. He rises to his feet. He faces the other wolves in the circle, who raise their heads to face him, arms spread and voice triumphant.

“My pack, You have a new brother!”

The proclamation resonates through the bond, and a pulse of light travels along the symbols on the floor, old Korean and swirling lines, before they flicker and go dark, leaving the room lit dimly by torches placed into brackets on the wall.

Leeteuk grins at everyone, before flinging his head back and letting a howl escape, calling out into the night. Siwon joins in, the sound tearing from his throat, the pack song singing in his heart, taking over and filling his very being. Something twinges almost painfully in his chest. One by one everyone joins in, exhilarated faces and one voice.

The howls take off into the night, carried on the wind.

Then Donghae gets a mischievous grin on his face, and tackles Siwon with a hug.  Siwon laughingly shoves the man off him, before Eunhyuk gets him from behind.

Soon enough, the pack dissolves into a bunch of playfully wrestling boys, and much as Leeteuk predicted, there is some growling, some stare offs, but the mood remains cheerful. Siwon barely takes notice of the fact that not many of his pack mates actually challenge him, Kyuhyun and Yesung the only ones willing to try. They growl and stare, neither one willing to break eye contact, but eventually they both back down, and once again the playful tussling resumes. Most, like Henry for example, almost immediately lower their eyes when he approaches.

Han Geng and Leeteuk and their mates have remained in the corner, watching the rest of the pack, amused smiles playing at their lips. Siwon looks up and catches Han Geng’s eye. The man raises an eyebrow and stares back, a feral grin crossing his face. Siwon narrows his eyes, mouth curling to sneer at the man. Han Geng pushes away from the wall sauntering over to crouch in front of Siwon, not breaking eye contact.

Siwon wants nothing more than to tear that smirk from his face. A growl rumbles in his throat.

Han Geng tilts his head back a little, mockingly baring his throat.

Heat begins to prickle at Siwon’s skin, sinking in all the down to his bones. The room tilts, and Siwon finds his forehead pressed to the ground. He hears a snort of laughter from somewhere. Heechul.

He should be annoyed, but trying to breathe is a little more important right at the moment. He gasps and wheezes in a futile attempt to inflate his lungs. Siwon is burning up, and pain coils in his chest. Faintly, he can hear voices, raised in concern.

“Siwonnie?”

Siwon cracks an eye open to peer blearily at the voice. Donghae, hovering over him, eyes dark and fearful. His hands flitter around Siwon, but don’t touch, unsure.

“Dong…hae.” A whisper.

Donghae starts and places a hand on his shoulder, leaning in to search Siwon’s face.

The world explodes into agony, any last vestige of breath torn from him in a scream. Siwon’s gaze is locked onto Donghae’s, terror filled eyes  filling his vision. The pain that has coiled in his chest squeezes, and his heart falters.

{SIWON!}

His mind is slammed with the force of a freight train, tearing through his mental shields like tissue paper.

(Siwon, breathe!}

Siwon’s mind extends tendrils of its own, feeling another, and something snaps into place.

{Please!}

{D-donghae?}

Power pours into him, heat evaporating into nowhere, pain pulsing with every erratic heartbeat. He blinks.

He sees himself, twisted, pain in every line of his body, eyes wide and staring. He blinks again.

Teary eyes, not his own, creased in a pain of their own.

{Siwon! Let me help you!}

Desperation. Siwon’s head jerks in the barest of nods.

The feral power coursing through his veins is gathered, brought to the center of his being, forcing the pain out, burning it away. Siwon’s heart steadies and he can feel another beating in time. Siwon coughs and inhales in a lungful of air. A forehead presses to his.

{Thank God.}

Siwon struggles to think, thoughts scattered, mind more wolf than man.

{My mate?}

The body above his stills, and sucks in sharp breath.

{No.}

Siwon whimpers, eyes flying open to stare in confusion. Donghae’s eyes are squeezed shut, head slowly shaking back and forth.

(Nononononono.}

Siwon’s eyes are pleading, confusion running rampant.

{My Hae?}

{NO!}

His mate didn’t want him? Why?

A voice drifts to him, the words slurring together and jumbled in his mind.

“Oh my god.”

His hands begin to shake, tremors wracking his body.

“He’s beginning to change!”

A command voice barks out. “Get Donghae away from him!”

Footsteps and suddenly Donghae is gone. His mate. Someone was trying to take his mate away.

 Siwon rolls over, and attempts to rise, but is halted by a bolt of pain shooting up his spine. The agony returns twofold, bones shattering and rearranging themselves with a sickening crack. His skin tears where it can no longer contain the bones, painfully regenerating almost as fast. Pins are stuck into him a fur sprouts, leading Siwon to tear at his skin, bloody gashes left behind.

 A Strangled howl forces its way past his lips.

He attempts to plead for help, a guttural noise mangled by his misshapen jaw. Siwon hacks blood and internal organ out onto floor as his insides are torn apart and rebuilt from scratch.

Finally it’s over, and Siwon shakily rises to his feet, powerful muscle rippling, a great brown wolf, mottled with black, standing where a man once had, shoulders easily reaching the chests of the  men in the room.

Siwon’s golden eyes narrow, and he sniffs the air. His mate. He explodes into motion and leaps at the people restraining his mate, all remnants of his human personality torn away.

Something barrels into him halfway there, sending him skidding across the floor. He  scrambles to get his feet under him, claws digging into the floor. He whips around, and a midnight wolf with fiery eyes is crouched, teeth bared in a snarl, a man with silver eyes standing calmly next to him.

Fury erupts with a growl, jaws snapping as he attacks the Ink colored wolf. He doesn’t get far. Siwon is slammed into the ground, teeth resting at his throat, red-orange eyes glaring at him. Paws pin him to the floor, and his tail whips in agitation.

The man speaks in a calm voice. “Siwon-ah.”

Siwon can feel the presence of his alpha, trying to draw him back to something, he doesn’t know what. He doesn’t care. He feels his packmates call to him and ignores them. He wants his mate.

The wolf above him relaxes the slightest amount, and Siwon seizes his chance, tossing the wolf off him and surging up. His claws catch the man on the side of face, tearing out hair and skin.

Donghae watches from the corner, eyes dull.

Leeteuk steps in front of him, causing Siwon’s ears to flatten back against his skull. The coppery scent of blood reaches Siwon’s nose from where rivulets runs down the mans face.

Sorrowful eyes stare into his.

“I’m sorry, Siwon-ah”

The black wolf pounces from behind, claws digging into his back. He yelps involuntarily.

At this Donghae stirs, life flickering back into his eyes. His glaze flits to a point behind Siwon, and his eyes widen to an impossible degree. The man tears free of his restraints, and blurs into a silvery wolf, blue eyes blazing.

{NO!}

And Siwon’s mind is forcibly grabbed, shattered pieces being shoved back together, and then smoothed over.

The wolf form falls away, and Siwon is left kneeling in the middle of the room, covered in nothing but blood.

He locks eyes with the aqua blue of the wolf in front of him.

The silver wolf is swaying slightly on its feet.

Siwon tentatively reaches out with his mind. {Hae?}

He receives no reply. The wolf raises its head slowly, and then folds in on itself like a house of cards, slumping to ground.

Siwon would have tried to go to him, but his own trip into unconsciousness follows shortly. The last thing he sees is the fire like eyes of the ebony wolf staring at him from Han Geng’s face.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Somewhere in Seoul,  a man stands out on the balcony of his apartment. He breathes in deeply, and grins.

 A second man opens the door behind  him, and steps out to lean against the railing.

The first man smirks at his friend. The other raises an eyebrow, and catches his gaze, sickly yellow meeting blood red.

“You’re in a good mood.”

The man laughs.

“The game has started.”

“Is that so?”

“Mm.”

The two stand in silence for a while, before the faint sound of howls reach them. The friend smirks as well.

 The first man turns and heads back inside, a spring in his steps. His friend remains.

He sniffs at the air, and smiles. He holds out a hand palm up. barely two seconds pass before water splatters on it.

“Looks like a storm is coming.”

after few moments longer, He retreats into the house, as the first sound of thunder rolls in the distance.
