Countless stores and several hours later the two stumble back into the dorm laughing and joking with each other. Han Geng swears his face hurts from smiling so much, and if he laughs again his stomach is going to detach itself and hide from all the abuse.
There had a been few close calls, like the time when Donghae had been too focused on talking to him, the silly fish, to pay attention where he going, and very nearly had a rather personal encounter with a taxi, but other than that he’d surprisingly enjoyed being dragged all around Seoul.
He definitely hadn’t laughed like that in a good while, although if Donghae didn’t start paying attention Han Geng’s heart might just freeze and not start up again. Damn, that had taken a few years off his life.
But still.
All in all it had been a good day, and admittedly worth it get drug out of bed at 7 in the morning on a day off. Barely.
They take off their shoes in the entry way and wander into the main part of the dorm, to find it silent. Han Geng supposes the other must have had the same idea as Donghae. WHY that is, he will never understand, A day off is meant for RELAXING.
After a moment they hear some noise from the kitchen, and Donghae walks over to peer around the doorway.
Leeteuk looks up from where he was eating ramen at the kitchen table. “Have a good day?”
Donghae grins and words spew out, almost tripping over each other in a high speed stream of chatter as he recounts their day. Han Geng smiles, laughs to himself as he watches the play of emotions across Donghae’s face, one after another. It was always an interesting show.
“And look Teukie hyung! I meet this grandma today, and she was selling these cool things, and she gave me this” he pulls out the stone.” for only 100 won because she said was special and she liked me! Its supposed to grant your greatest wish!”
Leeteuk looks interested. “What are you going to wish for?“
Was he really buying into it? Because Han Geng was pretty sure either the old lady was senile or some kind of mystic or it was a scam or something, because honestly, that was a little bit ridiculous. Wishing stones were only legend.
Donghae grins again. “The lady said that it would know, because we might not even know our own greatest wish.”
Leeteuk nods in understanding. “Ah? I wonder what my greatest wish is? I’ve thought about it sometimes, but its so hard to decide what you want the most.”
Donghae nods, eyes serious. “I know. I wonder what mine would really be….”
Han Geng pulls up a chair next to them and the three sit in comfortable silence for a while. Eventually Han Geng sees Leeteuk looking at him from the corner of his eyes and then glancing back to Donghae. Why-
Oh. He gets it.
“Hae.”
“Yeah, Hyung?”
Han Geng smiles at him. “Why don’t you bring your stuff up to your room? Before everyone gets home and tramples all over it.”
Donghae straightens up. “Ah! Good idea hyung.” He stands and grabs his bags from the floor and quickly dashes out the door. “Be back in a moment!”
Leeteuk and Han Geng share a look of fond amusement as footsteps pound up the stairs.
Once the footsteps fade away Han Geng turns his gaze to Leeteuk.
So what had Leeteuk wanted Hae out of the room for? After a few moments of silence he gives in voices the question.
Leeteuk turns to him, from where his gaze had returned to the stairs. “Did you guys have fun?”
That was it? “Yeah, made up for getting out of bed so early I guess.”
Leeteuk looks thoughtful. “That’s good.” His gaze sharpens. “Did you tell Donghae that that stone was probably a fake?”
Ouch. So he hadn’t bought it after all. That was… good. Reassuring was probably a better word. “It was only 100 won, and he seemed so happy about it. I didn’t see the harm.”
And he really didn’t. Seeing Hae’s face light up was worth the 100 won that the younger boy had probably wasted.
Leeteuk looks distressed. “But what about next time? What if he gets tricked into something more than that?”
Han Geng’s eyes widen. “Hyung, Donghae wouldn’t just spend money like that.”
“But still… I worry about him sometimes. He’s so mature one moment and completely naïve the next. I only hope it never gets him in trouble. “
It clicks, and Han Geng lets a small smile play across his face. So that was the real reason. “Donghae’s going to be fine Leeteuk. He’s perfectly capable of taking care of himself. And the childlike, innocent Donghae is cute isn’t it? We wouldn‘t want him to stop being himself. That‘s just who he his.”
Leeteuk smiles again. “True.”
Han Geng leans forward a little. “You know, sometimes I really wish that Donghae had been my actual little brother. I mean, I think of him like my brother now, all of you, but he’s just too adorable when he acts like a kid, like he‘s all too prone to do. Like with the stone for example, he got so excited over it I just couldn‘t tell him that it was a fake.”
Han Geng leans back again. Leeteuk smiles at him, no wait, is it smirking?
What? Han Geng narrows his eyes. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Leeteuk’s smile widens. He sing songs “Hannie~ you think Donghae is cute?”
Fuck. No he doesn’t, not like that. Donghae is like his brother. His brother!
He blocks out the memory if his earlier irrational urge to kiss the man. That had been a one time occurrence, probably caused by a lack of sleep and too much fan service.
Never mind mind how his stomach still flutters at the thought.
Han Geng flushes a little but manages to keep his voice calm. “He’s like my brother, Leeteuk. Seriously, nothing more than that, ever. I think the fan girls are getting to you.”
Leeteuk doesn’t lose his smile, but agrees with him anyway. “Whatever you say Geng.”
Seriously, the man is delusional.
So yeah, Next chapter. A little shorter than the last chapter. Oh, I also feel i should warn you guys that my chapters might be a little short, but they should all be at least a 1,000 words, thats just how it seems to be separating itself, soooooo.... yeah. hope you enjoyed it.
