Rating: PG-13 for language
Length: 1047 words
Pairing: HanHae
Summary: Han Geng thinks that Donghae would make a good little brother, and denies that his affections could lay in any other direction. Unfortunately for him, he may just find that you should be careful what you ask for, Some wishes have a nasty habit of coming true.
Han Geng lay in the dark, staring blankly at the ceiling above him.
The night had gone fairly smooth after they got Donghae warmed back up again.
They had trooped out into the main sitting area of the dorm, and talked late into the night, Donghae blatantly struggling to stay awake, and barely coherent for much of it. Eventually he gave in to the exhaustion, and the others continue to talk.
{{Donghae laughed sheepishly, curled up in a mound of blankets, and a mug of hot chocolate cupped in his hands.
“Ah- I looked at an old text message I had forgotten to open. I was about half way to where I was going, when I looked at my phone again and realized, Haha! And there was no point in wasting the whole trip, so I went to the park, instead.”
Eunhyuk grinned at the brunette. “Hae, you’re so clueless sometimes.”
Donghae yelped and glared, the sound inviting a chorus of snickers from his badnmates. Even Han Geng from his place at the other side of the room, laughed, just barely masking the annoyance he felt wanting to slip onto his face at the site if the two together.
He catches Leeteuk’s eye on him, and looks away from Donghae quickly, a flush burning across his face.
Why did he care if Leeteuk caught him staring? Why did he care that Donghae spent so much time with Eunhyuk? }}
Eventually they had all drifted off to bed one by one, until only Han Geng and Ryeowook are awake, Donghae asleep on the couch.
Han Geng rolled over and glared at his clock. He was never going to be able to sleep at this rate.
{{Ryeowook smiled over at Han Geng, and stood. He mumbled out through a yawn. “I’m going to bed. Are we going to leave Donghae here on the couch?”
They both looked over to where the man was curled up around a pillow, layers of blankets hiding everything below his face.
Han Geng stood as well. “No, I’ll get him to his bed, He’s never minded sleeping on the couch, but I’d rather not leave him down here.”
Ryeowook looks over at him. “Do you need any help?”
Han geng smiles and shakes his head gently. “No, I’ve got it, you go to bed.”
Ryeowook nods and sleepily makes his way to his room}}
But that wasn’t the reason Han Geng Couldn’t sleep. And maybe it wasn’t correct to say that evening had gone smoothly. Everything had been fine until he’d managed to wrestle Donghae into bed.
Han Geng was sure it must have been a slip of the tongue, Donghae being incoherent, and half asleep. He must have been dreaming, or sleep talking. It couldn’t really have been directed at Han Geng.
But it felt like time had frozen when he heard it, everything, motionless when he heard that soft whisper.
{{Han Geng pulled the covers up around Donghae’s shoulders, and stopped, hands resting lightly on top of the comforter.
Donghae looked slightly flushed, it was all to possible that brunette was coming down with something from his dip earlier. Han Geng moved a hand to Donghae’s forehead, and gently felt it. Warm, but not terribly so.
At Han Geng’s touch Donghae snuffled and moved his head into the pillow.
Han Geng snickered softly.
Too cute. And for once he wasn’t going to worry about why that was. He was TIRED and that involved too much brain power.
He turned to leave, but faltered as he heard a mumble coming from the bed.
“Han…. Geng…Saranghae…”
His breath hitched, and a shockwave went through him, radiating until his fingers and toes were almost numb, and tingling, and his stomach flipped and twisted, and his heart froze and skipped a beat for the third time that day, although this feeling was far from the worry and concern from earlier.
This, this was…
Wide eyes turned to the figure on the bed, he tried to speak. It came out as more of choked squeak. “D-Donghae?”
He waited, why had Donghae said that? Was it true? Questions flew through his mind faster than he could settle on one…
But his only answer was soft snores}}
Han Geng grabbed his pillow and wrapped both arms around it.
Had Donghae really said that even? Was it just is brain playing tricks, telling him something he wanted to hear?
That thought stuttered to a halt.
Did he want Donghae to have told him that? To have had Donghae tell him that he loved him?
Well, he carefully admits, maybe in a brotherly way. That wouldn’t be bad.
But just as a brother-like way. Brother, brother, brother, brother.
He studiously ignores the way his face heats up and the racing of his heart at the thought that maybe that what he felt was more than that.
He’s just like my brother.
He repeats this mantra to himself for a long time, but slowly, a traitorous part of his mind whispers.
He’s more than that. He my….
Han Geng falls asleep.

Siwon yawns and stumbles his way into the kitchen. He had the earliest schedule today, and so was alone the darken and silent dorm.
His hair sticks up in all directions, and he rubs sleep from his eyes as he sluggishly puts on a pot of coffee. He’s on his way to the door to see if the newspaper has come yet, when he hears a noise coming from Donghae’s room.
A little concerned, seeing as his band-mate had spent forever in the cold the day before he changes his trajectory, and slips into the others room.
His do a funny wiggling move at the sight that greets him, try to shoot up in shock and furrow in confusion and disbelief at the same time.
Donghae’s brown eyes stare back at him from the body of a small child, who couldn’t be more than the age of two. Longer wisps of black hair fall into the toddlers eyes as he cocks his head to the side at Siwon’s entrance.
Siwon just gapes as the kid giggles and reaches for him.
“Shi yuan!”
Siwon does the obvious thing to do in a situation like this.
“LEETEUK HYUNG!!”
*wrings hands nervously* oh dear, I'm really nervous about this chapter. I've been hinting for a while, but this is actually the start of the whole reason I wrote this fic.
I'm kinda worried that people will be put off by this, since its most commonly used as a cracky humor thing, and my story has been .... not that up till now.
and I'm not planning on taking it in that direction. this is Geng!Fic. the whole point of this is Geng coming to realize what he feels for Donghae, not a crack fic where cute!kid!Hae gets up to all kinds of mischief, and that's the whole thing.
Not saying i don't like those kinda fic, or won't have one or two moments of it, but what i really wanted to see was if Child!fic, could be used a serious plot device, and not just a crack fic trope, so thats what I'm doing
I'm not sure I'll be able to pull it off, but i really wanted to try it sooo..... yeah.
Ahhh I feel so nervous right now >.< please treat me kindly!
