You wanna know something?

I was thinking, about how I was kinda miffed about Sungmin and and Eunhyuk participating in this album. But now that I think about it, it provides a kinda cool opportunity for Fan Fic writers.

I mean, things have got to be different for M than the regular super junior. They aren't in their country, far away from their family and friends in a place where they don't know many people and barely speak the language. It stands to reason that they'd developed different rituals and habits while in M, than with regular super junior. They have to take on different responsibilties, more I think than normal, simply because there are less people to split the work among, and they have to work extra hard to cross the language and culture barrier. and living away from their friends and family and their home in close quarters with 6 other boys, it's almost inevitable that people who may not have been close while in korea will intereact and be closer while in china, simply as a coping mechanism, to share the experience with someone who knows exactly how you feel, someone who knows the homesickness, and the loneliness, and the strain of being out of your element and in a strange and unfamiliar place.

And these things, they might not transfer back when the boys are in super junior in any overt fashion, more than likely just kinda... lying dormant in a way, just an undercurrent in the daily interaction, until they return to M and they revert back to what works for them, which may not be what the others in Super Junior are used to, because even in the sub-groups of the boys who stayed in korea, they stayed in Korea , and that changes quite a bit.

But Sungmin and Eunhyuk, they are coming right into the middle of this, having to find their own coping mechanisms, find their own place, and their own relationships with their fellow members, because they won't really know anyone besides the members and their managers now will they? By this time the regular SJ-M has to have made some connections in china, have grown used to the culture and language in manner that Sungmin and Eunhyuk have yet to. So for Eunhyuk and Sungmin, its gotta be weird, almost like an alternate dimension of somehting.

Not to mention, They have unique experience of being able to observe and full appreciate the subtle, or not so subtle differences between super junior and Super Junior-M, from knowing them when they were in super junior, their habits and mannerisms, who they hung out with, what they normally handled at work, ect, when they were in Super junior, and new roles that they take when in M, the differences in interactions, the in jokes, the routines, things that maybe they were aware of before, from talking on the phone or after M's returns to Korea, but Never fully saw and witnessed, much less fully under stood.

It's really cool time to be a Eunhyuk or Sungmin writer, a great chance to delve not only into them, but their relationship with the M members and the Dynamics of M as whole.

I wish I felt confident enough to do it myself, but I don't write either of them, only Donghae and HanGeng and sometimes Siwon. and they won't have the same impact as writing from the POV of Eunhyuk or Sungmin who have one foot in Korea and a toe-hold in China, and aren't quite sure where to put their foot next. The rest of M have found fairly solid foundation to stand on by this point. not so for Sungmin and Eunhyuk, and it'll be interesting to see where they end up standing in the end.

Nice observations! So very true that the dynamics will be different and that it'll take Eunhyuk and Sungmin a while to get incorporated into them. Adding new members to an established family routine, huh? ^^ There's bound to be some confusion and alienation and shifting around of what once has been.

While this is really, really intriguing, I think the only way it would interest me as a writer at the moment would be that it would give them an outside perspective of the relationship dynamics in M that's at once free from preformed opinion and biased because they come with the experience of the SuJu dynamics. If that makes sense. They would notice how a member is different in this environment, if his role shifts from Korea to China, how he behaves towards the others and if different aspects of the personality come to the fore. Yeah. ^^ But that's just a tiny aspect of the ideas that can spring from your thinking. :)

Why not try it, bb?

Exactly.

To be honest, that's the really interesting part for me too, but there is just SO MUCH MORE, that can be done with this idea, that it would feel like a complete cop-out to write only that. It's just such a great opportunity to get inside eunhyuk and sungmin's heads and exam what makes them tick and their relations with the other members, that it's almost begging to be written. that's in addition to what's going on with M.

I'm mean there are so many aspects that you have to take into account it's a fairly daunting task. What are their roles on stage? who handles what in the back ground, who do they talk to outside of their members, what their relationship with the chinese staff, what do they eat on regular basis, who wakes up first, what's the morning routine, how much chinese do they actually know, it has to be more than what the are able to show in shows at this point, who falls into the leader roll now that Geng is gone, what dynamic shifts are M already experiencing now that Geng is gone, Can they handle the Chinese well enough to not to be relying on translators as much, or does zhou mi often have to come to their rescue? who sleeps in what room, what do they do when their schedules are done, who in the members do they talk to the most, hang out with the most, where do they habitually sit in the van on the way to work, and more.

so many things you have to take into account even if you don't neccessarily show them overtly, and not only that you have to know what they did to all those while in korea, so that you can not only explain WHAT those differences are, but you also must know WHY. Why would so and so do this when in china instead of that, because if you don't know the why, then the changes are just arbitrary, and that takes all the fun out of it. if you know WHY donghae seems to hang around ryeowook more, along with henry, when he's in china, than that change is more solidly grounded than if you just state that fact.

You can have eunhyuk or sungmin Guess as to the why's be confused, or maybe maybe understand them, as they start adjust themselves. How will they fit into all those different factors, and how will they Change those dynamics in the end?

and its doesn't HAVE to be written from Eunhyuk and Sungmin's pov I suppose, it can be written from the pov of an M meber, observing his fellow members, an dhow they've changed, what they are doing different now that Geng has left, how they incorporate sungmin and eunhyuk into their routines and dynamics, and watch Eunhyuk and Sungmin's journey into finding their place from the outside.

but those would be two completely different stories. You'd have different feelings, and insights, explanations, and interaction depending on who you chose to write from, and it's just... really cool i think.

Almost like the perfect time to do a kind of character study haha.

and that's just one way you can come at it, there are s many different ways to look at this situation. depending on pairings, POV, situation, and your own interpretation of the members and who they are.

I kinda want to, but I'm so intimidated by it it wouldn't know where to start. plus I really do want to examine it from eunhyuk and sungmin's POV but neither or them are boys I'm familiar with in a writing sense, or one of my favourites from super junior that I pay a lot of attention to, so I wouldn't know where to start with them. I mean I like them, but to be honest I don't have the greatest grasp on sungmin beyond the stereotype, and Eunhyuk is kinda vague beyond his relations to the other members, at least at any meaningful level.

ahhh so frustrating. but still, I hope i see some fic like this floating around, whether from the Eunhyuk and sungmin writers examining it from the newcomers perspective, or Siwon, Donghae, Kyuhyun, Zhou Mi, Henry,or Ryeowook writers examining it from their perspective as they make adjustments to the gap of Geng leaving and the new addition of sungmin and eunhyuk.

Either way, it would eb interesting to see different peoples take on the situation.

Interesting...
You got me an idea in writing something from this long post you had in here.
Unfortunately though, I'm not that comfortable in writing non-AU fics as of now. But definitely, maybe I could work on it. But of course, I don't think it will be from Min or Hyuk's POV as well...

Haha, I'm glad someone got something from this rambling entry. To be honest it was just something that was nagging at me, but wasn't giving me enough to work with for a fic.

or maybe it's better to say it was giving me too much to work with, and I couldn't figure out where to start or where to go.

but it was bugging me to put down something, so i typed this little thing up, as a means to get it out of my head.

haha, and it's fine if it isn't from minnie or Hyukkie's POV as well. that's why its so interesting, is that everyone can take it and put their own spin on it. I, myself, just happened to be particularly interested in what is going on in Min and Hyukkie's heads right now.
