Rating: PG-13 for language
Length: 1057 words
Pairing: HanHae
Summary: Han Geng thinks that Donghae would make a good little brother, and denies that his affections could lay in any other direction. Unfortunately for him, he may just find that you should be careful what you ask for, Some wishes have a nasty habit of coming true.
“LEETEUK-HYUNG!!”
Han Geng jerks awake, and sits up sleepily. He shoots an annoyed glance at the clock. That was NOT enough sleep. Especially since he’d been awake half the night worrying over Donghae’s slip of the tongue, if that’s what it was.
What the hell is Siwon doing being so loud this early? What ever it is, he still has another hour he can sleep.
Han Geng flops back down on his pillow but sits right back up at the next sound that echoes through the dorm.
Is that crying? Why would there being someone crying at this time of night? Or morning.
Han Geng shivers as he pulls the covers off, and rolls out of bed.
It IS. But he doesn’t have a clue what a kid should be doing in their dorm, because the crying can’t belong to anyone over the age of five.
Han Gen peaks out of his room, and sees Leeteuk exit his own, stifling a yawn with one hand. For a moment they share a bemused glance, what have their band mates gotten up to now? but Leeteuk eventually heads down the hall, Han Geng falling in step behind him, curiosity over taking his urge to go back to bed.
So much for sleeping.
“Siwon where are you?” Leeteuk calls out softly. Probably trying not to wake the others…. Not that he really thinks that they could have slept through Siwon’s racket.
“I-in Donghae’s room”
That’s enough to rid Han Geng of any last notion he had of going back to sleep.
Donghae? Was something wrong with Donghae? Had he gotten sick from the night before?
Han Geng tries to calm himself, but can’t to stop from picking up the pace, heart hammering. He quickly catches up to Leeteuk.
The two quickly reach Donghae’s room, and see Siwon standing with the strangest look on his face.
Leeteuk open’s his mouth to speak, but Han Geng beats him to it. “What’s wrong Siwon? Is something wrong with Donghae?”
Siwon’s mouth moves soundlessly, and he gives a helpless glance in to the room, and back to his hyungs. Eventually he manages to make his mouth work, About time Han Geng thinks, he was about ready to shove the man aside and storm into Donghae’s room himself.
“Well, I uh, wouldn’t say wrong exactly, but uh… maybe you should just look yourself.”
Leeteuk walks up to the door, and freezes. “Um, well, shit.”
Han Geng’s eyebrows threaten to disappear into his hair. That was far from the well-spoken leader he knew. What the could have caused him to react that way?
By now the crying has gotten louder, and Han Geng doesn’t think he can take another second of just standing there, and moves Siwon over so he can see. The sight that meets him is both somehow what he expected and not what he had expected at the same time.
Big brown eyes stare back at him and a tiny hand rubs at a face glistening with tears. Donghae’s eyes. Staring back from a kids face. Not Donghae and a kid, but just a kid.
What. The. Hell.
When the child sees him, He sniffles, and stops crying, a shaky smile sliding onto a small mouth.
“Gege!”
No way. This- This was impossible, some kind of prank that Donghae had planned. Dimly, Han Geng wonders if Heechul was in on this, it seemed like his kind of stupid elaborate joke. But still…
That child looked remarkably like Donghae’s baby pictures. Identical in fact, to the ones his mother had shown Han Geng that on time Donghae had dragged him to go meet his family. Donghae had complained and blushed, eventually lapsing into mortified silence as his mother cooed over all the baby photos while his hyung looked over her shoulder.
Han Geng had mentally cooed over the adult Donghae’s reaction, not that he’d ever admit it. But he definitely remembered what those photos looked like.
The small boy’s lip trembles a bit and curls into a pout when Han Geng doesn’t react, and he struggles out from the cocoon of blankets and tries to get off the bed.
Its too far to the ground however, and Han Geng snaps out of his daze before the boy can fall to the floor, quickly moving across the room to scoop him up into his arms. The boy laughs in glee and snuggles up against him.
“Gege!”
Han Geng awkwardly holds the boy, and shoots Leeteuk a helpless glance.
“What is going on here?”
Leeteuk and Siwon look as bemused as Han Geng feels. Honestly what kind of explanation is there for finding a child in your co-worker’s room?
Siwon ventures, “Is that…..Donghae?”
He looks closely at the child in his arms, who stares up at him with adoring eyes. The kid has Donghae’s eyes, Donghae’s nose, Donghae’s mouth, even the chin!
A terrifying certainty creeps over Han Geng.
“I think….it just might be.”
Leeteuk groans, and rubs a hand over his face. “This is not what I signed up for. Can’t anything be normal with you boys?”
The child, no, Donghae, giggles and cuddles into Han Geng’s chest, chubby arms wrapping around his neck. “Geng Gege!”
Han Geng’s eyes widen in panic, and he gives the boy a stilted smile. Donghae, calling him like that. Like he was nothing more than- than his big brother! It felt… wrong. Especially coming form the mouth of someone so much smaller.
Leeteuk laughs, hysteria lending it a slight edge. “Well, Geng, you did say you wanted Donghae as you’re little brother. It looks like You’ve got you’re wish.”
Well he had hadn’t he? And he’d meant it. So why was it so odd then?
Han Geng shoves the thought aside, and glares at Leeteuk. “This isn’t funny. Donghae could have gotten sick from last night, and if he really IS this, this kid, then what are we going to do?”
Leeteuk looks chagrined and cringes. “I’m sorry Geng, its just, I don’t even know how to react here. Why do you do when you find out your friend has turned into a toddler?”
Han Geng raises his eyebrows, but nods in understanding. What were they supposed to do?
Siwon apparently has an idea, and so breaks the ensuing silence with a horrified whisper. “I’m not the one telling manager hyung.”
Soo... sorry for the wait >.< plus this chapter ended up being kinda crack, which I'm not too happy with. But really, how do you deal with your friend turning into a kid? its going to be very surreal at first, ne? So, once that settles in.....
Also. I think HanHae needs a Comm. do we have one already? I've never seen an active one, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. I was just thinking if maybe we had a place to gather HanHae fic and pic and graphics and teh like, maybe the fandom would pick up a little, since i feel like we get lost in the busy of places like Miracle TT.TT
honestly I'm just desperate lol. Fandom has slowed down so much >.<
